The Nursing Assistant Program provides a comprehensive classroom training and clinical training which enhances and improves levels of technical performance to prepare the student to perform as an effective member of the health care team. Employment opportunities exist for Nurse Assistants in hospitals, home health agencies and long-term care facilities. An inherent purpose of the program is to prepare the student to take the State Competency Evaluation required by the Tennessee Department of Health for placement on the State Nursing Assistant Registry.
The Phlebotomy course was developed to enhance the skillsets of students by learning veni-puncture and laboratory technique.
